2025 HORTICULTURAL EVENTS next month

The Poole In Bloom inaugural Open Garden Fundraising Event took place on Sunday, 30th June 2024.

Five beautiful gardens were visited by many on the day, all of whom enjoyed a cream tea with the Open Gardens Passport. 

Visitors purchased a passport at any of the gardens and made their way around all five collecting stamps.

The funds raised from this event allow Poole In Bloom to continue its work as a not-for-profit organization, promoting Poole and its residents efforts to make Poole beautiful.

PIB Committee would like to thank Diana and John Butler, Pam and David Bassil, Iris James, Jim Gardner and Jason and Ming Edwards for taking part and opening their gardens.

1. Dress for the weather: include sunhats, sun lotions, comfortable shoes and, heaven forbid it is wet, a waterproof jacket and a warm jumper. 
2. Be mindful: many plants are poisonous, so care should be taken when touching them. 
3. Bring a notepad and a camera, as it is easy to forget the ideas you get on such a busy day. 
4. Do not forget your card and cash to make the most of plant sales and to buy refreshments, and of course a bag to carry any purchases. 
5. Plan your route carefully - please see the Google Map below.
6. Check what is on offer for each garden so you will be prepared for each site. 
7. Car share where possible and check parking restrictions, it is a Sunday so they will be different in many locations, and please be patient as the areas will be busy at certain times. 
8. Please do not take cuttings or pick flowers, the gardens have been generously opened by the hosts in aid of Poole In Bloom and many of them will be up for judging within the next few weeks.
9. Toilets are not available in any of the gardens, however the hosts will be able to point you in the direction of the nearest public convenience.
